A 62-year-old man died after he fell into the river in Tetuan the other day.

The victim was identified as Reynaldo Avila y Deymos, married, of Estrada St., Tetuan.

Avila’s body was found floating in the river around 11 a.m. a day after he left home.

Initial investigation showed that Avila, who was drunk left home around 9 p.m. on December 20 after he asked permission from his wife that he will go to his cousin’s house.

However, Avila failed to return home prompting his relatives to look for him the next day.

Around 11 a.m. Avila’s body was discovered floating in the river.

Police said that Avila apparently drowned after he accidentally fell into the river while walking along the riverbank.

The body was brought to a funeral parlor for post mortem examination.

Meanwhile, policemen of the Anti-vice Section led by Sr. Insp. Joseph Lim seized two slot machines (apple-apple and video carrera) during an illegal gambling operation in Sangali last Saturday afternoon.

The machines were brought to the City Police Office for proper disposition. – Dan Toribio Jr.
