Celso on Christmas 2012: ‘Thank the Lord for Jesus’ PDF Print E-mail

Amid the fun and the merriment in celebration of Christmas, Mayor Celso Lobregat has exhorted all Zamboanguenos not to veer away from the true meaning of the occasion—that is to be grateful for the birth of Jesus Christ.

“El Pascua es un tiempo de alegria, esperanza y gratitud por el nacimiento del Nino Jesus” (Christmas is a time for joy, hope and gratitude for the birth of baby Jesus), Lobregat said stressing “Reza kita firme y rindi kita gracias con el Dios Tata y Nuestra Senora La Virgen del Pilar por el guia, proteccion y bendicion que kita ta continua resibi” (Let us always pray and thank the Lord Almighty and Nuestra Senora La Virgen del Pilar for the guidance, protection and blessings that we continue to receive).
Lobregat said Zamboanguenos have so much to thank the Lord for, despite the challenges and the trials.
In the light of adversities, he said, people’s faith on the Lord and the Nuestra La Virgen del Pilar, keeps Zamboanga safe from harm and tribulations.

He likewise thanked the people for their continuous concern, support and cooperation in all the programs and undertakings of the local government under his administration. Because of this, he, said, the present administration is constantly exerting its level best to serve the constituents through diverse projects and programs.
“In this festive season, let us rejoice and celebrate what is good, the positive, the best and the beautiful about Zamboanga”, the mayor implored adding “Celebra kita el Pascua con alegria na Ciudad de Zamboanga”.

Meanwhile, Pascua na Zamboanga, the festival intended to spread Christmas joys and cheers will be capped with the spectacular fireworks display on December 31 at 11pm at the Paseo del Mar. — Sheila Covarrubias
