Three persons were killed, while a female barangay kagawad of Sibuco was wounded in three separate gun attacks in Zamboanga City before Christmas Day.

Businessman Florante Maki Angay y Jumalon, 32, single, with Josephine Iluaña y Cruz, 42, married, kagawad in Sibuco, were aboard a motorcycle on their way home from Sta. Cruz Market in Zamboanga City when three gunmen surfaced and opened fire at themat Sinubong Bridge around 1 p.m., last Sunday

Iluaña was hit in the body and fell from the motorcycle. She however managed to hide while Angay continued driving his motorcycle but the gunmen chased and shot him several times.

Angay sustained multiple bullet wounds in the body and died on the spot, while Iluaña was brought to the hospital by helpful residents.

Around 9:50 p.m., Samari Balangkasi y Asan, 48, married, of Oval, Lamitan, Basilan, was driving his Honda XRM motorcycle along Gov. Lim Avenue when gunmen stopped him near Shop-O-Rama. They had a conversation and suddenly one of them shot him.

Although wounded,  Balangkasi managed to run towards the intersection of Climaco Avenue and Gov. Lim Avenue leaving his motorcycle behind.

However, few meters away he fell on the ground while the suspects took his motorcycle and left the place.

The .38 cal. revolver used by the gunmen was left at the scene.

The victim was rushed to the Zamboanga City Medical Center where he expired while undergoing treatment.

Felicisimo Borromeo Jr., 33, separated,  of Don Alfaro Street, Tetuan was found dead along a vacant lot near the Zamboanga City National High School Main around 7 a.m. last Tuesday. The body bore a bullet wound.

Police said that Borromeo was involved in extortion and drug activities in the area. – Dan Toribio Jr.
