The residents of Barangay Sinunuc in the west coast headed by Chairman Emilliano Sebastian, including the teachers of Sinunuc Elementary School yesterday expressed their profound gratitude to the city government through Mayor Celso Lobregat for the P2.4 million projects implemented in their barangay.

Chairman Sebastian said he was so grateful to Mayor Lobregat for giving his barangay millions of pesos worth of infrastructure projects since he assumed office in 2004.

The latest of these projects were the rehabilitation of the two-storey six-classroom building amounting to P779,000 and the slope protection in the amount of P1.7 million. Both projects were inaugurated yesterday morning.

Lobregat said the city government had implemented more or less P50 million worth of various infrastructure projects in Sinunuc since 2007 alone. The projects included the barangay hall, police station and school buildings.

Likewise, District Supervisor Dr. Fely Ascabano and Sinunuc Elementary School Principal Loubella Bernardo thanked the chief executive for all his education-related projects that included three school buildings and an H.E. building at Sinunuc Elementary School.

“We promise to take good care of this newly-repaired school building that will provide our students with an environment conducive to learning,” the principal said.

Also present during the unveiling ceremony were Vice Mayor Cesar Iturralde together with Councilors Rudy Lim, Myra Paz Valderrosa-Abubakar, Gerky Valesco and Luis Biel together with City Social Welfare and Development officer-in-charge Evelyn Las Marias, former councilor Charlie Mariano, former CSWDO Francisco Barredo, Violy Alejandro, Art Onrubia, Nardz Sampang, Bong Atiliano and Tito Espiritsanto.— Vic Larato
