Coop manager loses P205,000 to holdupper PDF Print E-mail

The manager of a micro finance cooperative lost more than P205, 000 to a barefoot holdupper in Barangay Basak, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur last Saturday morning.
Police identified the victim as Luzviminda Geonaga Gelero, 47, married, manager of Farmers Credit Cooperative of Dumingag.

Investigation disclosed that Gelero was collecting loan dues from clients when a gunman surfaced and held him up.

Police said the gunman forcibly took Gelero’s shoulder bag containing more than P205, 000.

Gelero said the holdupper was wearing black jacket, long pants and  with black sunglasses but he was reportedky barefoot onlywhen he staged the holdup and ran on foot towards unknown  direction.

Meanwhile, intruders broke into the house of a policeman in Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur and carted away money, grocery items, appliances, bullets and a magnum revolver.

Police identified the house owner as PO3 Endito Humpa of Highway Patrol Group 9 based in Camp Abelon, Pagadian City.

The robbery was discovered when Humpa arrived at the house. A discreet investigation was conducted to determine the identities of the burglars. — Noning R. Antonio
