A tricycle driver was stabbed and wounded by two unidentified assailants in Kasalamatan Village, Sta. Catalina last Thursday night.

Wounded was Jose Salazar y Dela Cruz, 48, married, of Sampaguita Drive, Sta. Catalina. He sustained a stab wound in the back body and helped himself to the hospital after the incident.

Initial investigation disclosed that Salazar brought two passengers to the interior of Kasalamatan Village around 8:30 p.m. When he was about to leave the place and upon reaching 50 meters away from the main road of Sta. Catalina, two men appeared and one of them stabbed him in the back.

The suspects hurriedly left the place.

Despite the stab wound in the body, Salazar was able to drive the tricycle to the Zamboanga City Medical Center. He was later transferred to a private hospital. – Dan Toribio Jr.
