2 men shot dead in Mariki, Campo Islam PDF Print E-mail

Two persons were killed in separate gun attacks in Mariki and Campo Islam last Monday.

Slain were Muamil Akmad, 29, married, of Mariki and Albasser Jailani, 32, of Kasalamatan, Baliwasan Seaside.

A sketchy report disclosed that Akmad was shot in Mariki around 5 p.m.

Police investigators went to the crime scene but no one cooperated with them.

Akmad sustained a gunshot wound in the chest and was declared dead on arrival at the Zamboanga City Medical Center.

Police said that based on information, Akmad was involved in the selling of prohibited drugs in Mariki.

Akmad has a pending complaint for illegal possession of firearm and child abuse with grave threat at the central police station.

Jailani was shot to death by a certain Nurudum and four cohorts in Campo Islam around 8:55 p.m.

A police report disclosed that Jailani cautioned Nurudum. who is his neighbor, to minimize the volume of his video machine considering many residents had started praying in the nearby mosque. Jailani punched Nurudum in the body.

Nurudum left the place and told Jailani to wait for his return.

Minutes later, Nurudum together with four companions returned and mauled Jailani.

Not contented, Nurudum shot Jailani five times in the different parts of his body.
