President Aquino yesterday urged participants to the “Top-Level Action of Higher Education Institution for Mindanao Peace and Development” held at a hotel in Zamboanga City to help more for the development of the coconut industry and plant more trees because it is in demand in the world market.

Aquino revealed that there is a shortage of coconut water in the US and other foreign nations.

He said that coconut fiber is useful for protection of soil erosion most especially in mountaion slopes.

“Coconut fiber made by farmers into coco coirs are very in demand in the world market also to protect and  preserve soil from flashfloods.

Before flying to Zamboanga, Aquino came from Balamban, Cebu where he  inaugurated a shipyard. He came here City to grace the three-day forum on promotion of education, peace and development  initiated by Fr. Antonio F. Moreno. — Allen Abastillas
