The cell site of Globe Telecommunication in Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte, was bombed by unidentified attackers, injuring a security guard last Tuesday morning.

A police report disclosed that the bomb attack transpired around 4:20 a.m. at Globe telecommunication’s compound.

It was learned that men aboard a motorcycle planted and exploded a bomb in the compound, destroying the cell site and wounding security guard Kristoffer Lopez, 34, who was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Investigation disclosed that the bomb attack occurred during a blackout which made it difficult for Lopez to identify the bombers.

Recovered at the bombing scene were fragment pieces of lead, fragmented parts of rubber pipe and other explosive components. Police are still facing blankwall on the motive of the attackers. —  Noning R. Antonio
