Supt. Severino  Bernardo Agustin assumed on Tuesday as the new chief of Highway Patrol Group-9.

Agustin is a graduate of the Philippine National Police Academy  belonging to  Class 1989. His previous assignment was in HPG National Headquarters Camp Crame.
Chief Insp. Alejandro O. Espiritu III is now the Deputy Regional  Chief.

During a conference last Thursday  afternoon at Camp Batalla , Agustin directed all provincial team units to intensify the campaign against carnapping , highway robbery , the policy on “No plate-No Travel” and the implementation of the Helmet Law.

Agustin said he has maximized the assignment and operation of his command because of lack of troopers.

“We also work and join operations with troopers of the 9th Regional Public Safety Battalion under Group  Director Narciso Verdadero in the establishment of random checkpoints and mobile patrol in the different highways in the region,” Agustin said.

Meanwhile, Agustin disclosed that he will soon meet the Director of the Technical  Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and propose to him his project in which his troopers will attend a five-day course on computer literacy and another project, a seminar, also for HPG troopers on judicial affidavit on January 22, 2013.

“ I want my men to learn the judicial affivadit role,” Agustin said. —  Allen  Abastillas
