The regional leadership of the Department of Transportation and Communications (DoTC), Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) has appointed a new chief for the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) Provincial Office of Sulu at the onset of the new year 2013.

Mr. Abdulbasar C. Abdula is the new Provincial Head/Provincial Maritime Industry Officer for Sulu replacing Mr. Kadil Sahidullah, whose term ended on December 31, 2012.

Abdula assumed office on January 11, 2013 by virtue of Assignment Order covered by Memorandum Order dated January 2, 2013 issued and signed by Engr. Pama P. Dimapanat, MPS, Director IV/Head of Agency, DoTC-ARMM, Cotabato City.

In his assumption letter addressed to Engr. Dimapanat, the new Sulu MARINA provincial chief wrote: “In the exigency of public service, I hereby assumed office as Provincial Head of Maritime Industry Authority of the Province of Sulu per Memorandum Order dated January 02, 2013. As such I’m going to discharge the devolved function of MARINA-ARMM in Sulu pursuant to Executive Order 435.”

As required by the assignment order, he added: “I’ll work closely in coordination with the regional head of MARINA-ARMM and report directly to you (Engr. Dimapanat).”
Abdula vowed to adhere and propagate the vision of MARINA “as a strong, dynamic, proactive, responsive, and committed Maritime Administration” in Sulu.

He expressed gratitude to the ARMM leadership for his appointment to the post.

“I thank the Hon. ARMM Governor Mujiv S. Hataman, Sulu Provincial Governor, Hon. Abdusakur M. Tan, DoTC-ARMM head, Engr. Dimapanat and MARINA-ARMM Regional Director, Captain Dialoson A. Amil PCGA, LCB, MPA for giving me the trust and the chance to serve the people of Sulu in my present appointed capacity,” he  said.
