District 1 congressional aspirant Monsi dela Cruz of the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) said yesterday he will tap the talents of several Zamboangueños to assist him if ever he will be successful in his political bid.

Monsi, who is described as a servant leader responsible for the various successful projects in Zamboanga City, said his leadership style is one who consults bright and talented individuals and making decisions not just by his own, but with the participation of other people.

Monsi’s leadership approach is called participatory that is being applied by modern and successful leaders from other countries.

“We have many bright and talented residents here and they can really help me make my visions and programs work,” said the former priest turned successful entrepreneur.

He cited the case of Atty. Vic Solis, the only bar topnotcher in Zamboanga City, whose legal expertise and development vision can be very effective in his (Monsi’s) proposed programs.

Monsi said there are several other young and talented individuals in Zamboanga City who have new and modern ideas that can be turned into successful realities.

“I have met several persons here who I have sized up as talented and bright, but are being left on the sideline because some of our leaders do not see the importance of have them as their consultants or advisers,” Monsi said.

The former priest is credited for successful undertakings in Zamboanga City like the imposing Metropolitan Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, the Centro Pastoral, the Lantaka Hotel and the most is the Nuevo Zamboanga College where graduates are assured of job placement.
