House Deputy Speaker and District 1 Rep.  Beng Climaco, who chairs the Liberal Party (LP) in Zamboanga, said the visit of President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III in the city has further strengthened the local party in its ideals as well as its agenda to push development in partnership with other sectors.

President Aquino, LP chairman visited Zamboanga City, January 16 and met with the Climaco-led LP in Zamboanga and the members of the coalition under Laban ng Demokratikong Pilipino and Adelante Zamboanga.

Climaco sought the audience with the president together with the coalition to tackle various issues specifically Zamboanga’s stand on certain issues such as the regional transfer.

“On the occasion of LP’s more than 6 decades of service, the party’s anniversary is geared towards strengthening its ideals and PNoy’s visit not only focused on how the party can gain leverage, but to put forth collaboration with other sectors to push development,” the lady solon proclaimed.

She stressed that her office continues to work hard with all the priority programs it has requested from Malacanang.

“It never is an easy task, but we continue to do our work by making sure that our stand is heard and our presentation is recognized”, Climaco added.

The Liberal party celebrated its 67th anniversary January 19 and President Aquino in his message said the party, with the authority entrusted by the people, has succeeded in introducing “positive meaningful change of reforms that could not have been possible without our common bedrock of integrity and sincere public service”. — Marvin Segura
