Mayor Celso Lobregat yesterday congratulated the 83 newly promoted officers of the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) even as he reminded them that their promotion was not necessarily a reward for a job well done but a promise to do even better.

“Normally, when you get your promotion it is because of your performance and accomplishments, but you have to move forward to perform better and you have to perform even more,” the chief executive told the 83 newly promoted police officers headed by SPO4 Rodolfo G. Domingo Jr.

He also said the city government under his administration has been giving so much support to the local police force to keep Zamboanga City peaceful, but called on the lawmen to do so much more. “Your promotion is more on what you are capable of doing in the future,” he added.

At the same time, Lobregat thanked the police for giving him the honor and the privilege to serve the city not only for one term (3 years), not just for two terms (6 years) but for three consecutive terms (9 years).

Present during the induction of the newly promoted police officers were ZCPO officer-in-charge Sr. Supt. Edwin de Ocampo, his deputies Supt. Diomarie Alabarico for administration and Supt. Concordio Apolinario for operations, and other officials.— Vic Larato
