Basilan, Sulu and Tawi are the "disposal" areas of motorcycles stolen in Luzon.

This is information received by the Highway Patrol Group-9 was discussed during the first quarter conference of HPG-9 presided by its Chief Sr. Supt. Romeo R. Uy  at Camp Batalla, RT Lim Boulevard.    The conference was attended by HPG-9's different team leaders in Zamboanga Peninsula.

Sr. Supt. Uy directed his area unit  commanders to be extra vigilant for stolen motorcycles.

The information coincided with the seizure of 51 suspected stolen motorcycles at the local wharf last month.

Uy said the  information disclosed tha stolen motorcycles are brought  to Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi.    He directed his commanders to validate the information thoroughly and check on any reports on stolen motorcycles.

The 51 suspected stolen motorcycles inside a containerized van was shipped from Manila.

Uy conveyed the commendation of NPG National Director Chief Supt. Leonardo Espina to his men for a job well done in recovering the 51 motorcyles.

Zamboanga del Sur HPG unit under Insp. Dexter Diones has been also commended  for a job well done in recovering three carnapped four-wheel vehicles and stolen motorcyles.

Aside from the recovery of 51 motorcycles in Zamboanga City, HPG Zamboanga City also recovered five stolen motorcycles and four-wheel carnapped vehicles. -- Allen Abastillas
