The Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Force (PAIDSOFT) operatives have arrested a couple and their son, tagged as among the well-known drug pushers, in Basilan province, a police official bared Thursday.

Basilan police director Sr. Supt. Mario Dapilloza said the suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation carried out around 2 p.m. Wednesday in Sitio Bakkaw-Bakkaw, Barangay Lower Port Holland, Maluso town.

Dapilloza identified the arrested couple as Abdulla Musa, his wife, Nursiya, and son, Niskan, who are residents of Barangay Lower Port Holland, Maluso.

Dapilloza said the suspects were arrested after they conspired in selling one sachet of suspected shabu to a Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agent who posed as buyer.

The suspects are among the top target of PDEA for arrest in the town of Maluso, Dapilloza said.

Confiscated from the suspects’ possession were a sachet of suspected shabu, one digital weighing scale, and P300 marked money, he said.

Also confiscated from them were an Italian-made caliber .45 pistol with seven rounds of ammunition, he added.

Meanwhile, Basilan Gov. Jum Akbar has commended PAIDSOFT for a job well-done.

The task force was activated to fight against the drug menace in the province.
