3 NPA rebs slain in clash with soldiers PDF Print E-mail

Three New People’s Army rebels were killed while three soldiers were wounded in a clash in Mati, Tigbao, Zamboanga del Sur last Wednesday afternoon.

A military report disclosed that Army soldiers were scouring the vicinity of Mati, Tigbao around 2:45 p.m. when NPA rebels rained them with bullets.

The government troops retaliated triggering a firefight for several minutes.

After the exchange of gunfire, military confirmed that three NPA rebels were killed and three soldiers were wounded.

During a clearing operation, troops recovered high powered firearms belonging to slain rebels.

The wounded soldiers were taken to a hospital while hot pursuit operations were still ongoing. — Dan Toribio Jr.
