The city’s top three officials are set to report to the people of Zamboanga City the various accomplishments they made last year in the annual state of the city report on Monday, to be held at the spanking new Centro Latino, the city’s recently constructed multi- purpose hall inside the Paseo del Mar Complex at Pettit Barracks.

City Hall Spokesperson Sheila Enriquez-Covarrubias said the new edifice will be formally blessed and inaugurated today in formal rites at 4:00 pm.She added all systems is go for Monday’s important event which is set to commence 9:00am  at the  33-47 million peso edifice constructed by the city government.

Mayor Celso Lobregat, District 1 and House Deputy Speaker Beng Climaco-Salazar and District 2 Rep. Erbie A. Fabian will deliver their accomplishment reports in the yearly event organized by the city council with Vice Mayor Cesar Ituralde playing host to the formal event and with all members of the city’s august body expected to attend the blue ribbon event.

Rep. Fabian is set to deliver ‘Farewell to Congress’, a comprehensive report spanning his nine years in the House of Representatives, his accomplishments and highlights from 2004 to the present.

The Fabian report is also expected to dwell on the status of Congressional measures he has sponsored the past nine years.

The 2nd district solon said the people of the city, especially those he serves in the city’s east coast has a right to know how their duly elected officials fared in the years they were entrusted by the people to lead them and chart the course of destiny of the city and its people.

Fabian encouraged the people to listen to what their officials have to say and find out whether they have fulfilled their mandate and covenant with the people.

This year’s State of the City Report draws special interest from many than the previous ones as this will be the last report rendered out by the trio in their present capacities and positions.

All three are running for a different post in the May 2013 polls, with the mayor   and Cong.Fabian stepping down after serving three consecutive terms as mayor and 2nd District Representative respectively.

Top city officials, regional government heads, the police and military top brass in the city and the region are expected to gather along with the city’s top business, and civic leaders.

The event will also be likely aired live on both radio and television with the local press to cover the event, anticipating highlights in the various offices concerned to be announced during the program.

The combined efforts of the trio will also be a barometer as to how much progress and development the city has achieved in the past year and will provide a bird’s eye view of what direction the city needs to take next in pursuit of its vision, plans and programs for the future.
