“I have done my best and will continue to do more for my constituents.”

This was the message of Sulu District 2 Congresswoman Lady Ann Sahidulla yesterday during a press conference at her residence in Baliwasan, this city.

Sahidulla said the most prominent of her accomplishments are the fishing ports in the municipalities of Lugus, Pata, Tongkil, Tapul and Siasi which falls under her district 2 office.

The projects have been realized through the bills she passed and approved by Congress. The funds were coursed to the office of the Department of Public Works and Highways of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, Sahidulla said.

The congresswoman stressed hundreds of fisher folks are now benefiting from the project.

“Unlike before, our fishermen have no landing sites and storage area for the fishes they caught. But now it is a thing of the past and they thank me for these projects,” Sahidulla said.

According to Sahidulla, congressional funds under her Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAP) have also been allocated for the different livelihood jobs mostly for the women of District 2, Sulu.

“The livelihood assistance for the women sector include bread and pastry making, durian and mangusteen preservation and seaweeds,” Sahidulla emphasized.

The congresswoman vowed to continue with her programs and visions to make District 2 competitive with the other municipalities in the ARMM. — KS
