HPG, PNP on alert in Zambo Sur after Amalilio’s arrest Print

Operatives of the Highway Patrol Group in Zamboanga del Sur have intensified their operations and checkspoints in  the different highways of the province following a news report that Aman Amalilio, the man behind the infamous Aman pyramiding scam who was arrested in Malaysia recently.

Zamboanga del Sur HPG team chief Sr. Insp. Dexter Diones reported to HPG-9 Chief  Supt. Severino B. Agustin that his men were given by the Pulmano family a land area and shelter forcheckpoint site given along the highway of barangay Tiguma in Pagadian City. The area was formerly the checkpoint of the 9th Regional Public Safety Battalion. It is strategic because it located at the junction of the road going to the airport and to the municipality of Labangan.


Meanwhile, Zamboanga del Ur Police Provincial Director Sr. Supt. Thomas Abellar disclosed that he and his men in coordination with the other law enforcers in the province are in heightened alert because of the arrest of Amalilio.


Abellar said all police troopers are in in their designated areas in securing the province.


“We expect that the venue of the case will be here because most of the victims are from here and they do not have the money to go elsewhere if the court will change the venue for security reason. We are very much ready to secure the area,” Abellar said. — Allen Abastillas
