2 wanted bandits behind hi-way atrocities nabbed PDF Print E-mail

The leader of a notorious lawless group behind several atrocities in Zamboanga Sibugay and his cohort were arrested during a police operation at Sitio Tikol, Barangay Langon, Upper Tungawan the other day.

Chief Insp. Ariel Huesca, information officer of the Police Regional Office-9, identified those arrested as Munib Aukasa alias Ismael and Munib Limsar. Also nabbed was Abraham Jamlani of the same place.

Aukasa was arrested on the strength of a warrant for murder and violation of Section 3(b) of PresidentialDecree No.532 (Highway robbery ). The warrant was issued by Judge Reubin Maraon of the Regional Trial Court Branch 24 in Zamboanga Sibugay.

Jamlani was arrested after the police found a .45 caliber pistol with no papers from his possession.

Police also confiscated from Aukasa’s possession a .45 caliber pistol, a .357 revolver and a fragmentation grenade.

Huesca said that Aukasa’s group was behind a murder incident that took place in Tungawan last December 11, 2006 wherein the victim was Maximo Pilapil, robbery aboard Rural bus transit last July 8, 2009 along the highway in Tungawan  where the driver Diolito Pelayo was shot to death and PO3 Alan Herrera was seriously wounded, another bus robbery along Upper Tungawan last April 5, 2011 where a Rural Transit Bus was burned and the passengers were rained with bullets that resulted in the death of Major Julistidi Arasid and his wife while two bus escorts Lito Dela Cruz and Federico Luchavez, both militiamen, were wounded and the murder of police officers identified as PO1 Rey Romano and PO1 Radin Hasi last January 29, 2012. – Dan Toribio Jr.
