Another suspected drug pusher was arrested by men of the Zamboanga City Public Safety Company under Supt. William Gadayan in Barangay Sta. Catalina last Tuesday morning.

City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin De Ocampo identified the suspect as Sanny Juaini y Singkay, 32, married, of Kasalamatan Drive, Sta. Catalina.
De Ocampo said that Gadayan’s team confiscated a medium and a small packs of shabu with P500 marked money and an unlicensed .38 cal. revolver from the possession of Juaini.

A police report disclosed that around 8 a.m. Gadayan’s men led by Insp. Alan Perpetua proceeded to Sitio Buggok, Sta. Catalina where Juaini and a police poseur buyer would meet for a drug transaction.

When Juaini handed over a sachet of shabu to the poseur buyer in exchange of P500 marked money, INsp. Perpetua’s team immediately cornered him.

During inspection, policemen recovered another sachet of shabu and the .38 cal. revolver with nine rounds of ammunition from Juaini’s possession.

Juaini was detained at the central police station  while the confiscated items were forwarded to the 9th PNP Crime Laboratory for examinations.

De Ocampo said that aside from violation of Republic Act 9165, they will also file charges of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and violation of the Comelec gunban against Juaini. – Dan Toribio Jr.
