Kidnappers have demanded P50 million ransom for the release of a one-year-old Filipino Canadian citizen who was abducted together with his baby sitter in Pagadian City last Thursday, Police Regional Office-9 Director Chief Supt. Juanito B. Vaño disclosed yesterday.

Timothy Sokolob was seized together with his baby sitter identified as Caroline kidnappers at  Rosario Homes in Barangay Dao, Pagadian City around 9 a.m.
Chief Supt. Vaño, in a meeting with agents of the Federal  Bureau of Investigation led by David L. Bowdich, said that Sokolob is a Canadian citizen with Russian descent.

Bowdich and his agents paid a courtesy call on Vaño at Camp Abendan yesterday morning.    Vaño said that Sokolob’s father works with a mining company in Surigao.

He revealed the police and Army soldiers are on hot pursuit operations against the kidnappers and their hostages. — Allen Abastillas
