The Commission on Elections (Comelec) with the City Police Office under Sr. Supt. Edwin De Ocampo and the military’s Task Force Zamboanga yesterday formally opened the City Election Monitoring Action Center (Cemac) at Enriquez Sports Complex in Baliwasan.

Cemac is a joint project of the Comelec, police and TFZ with the objective to monitor all election activities in the city.

Cemac was formed exclusively to gather and monitor election activities and to record all the events and other concerns relating to the May 13 election.

All the data gathered will be submitted to the Joint Security Control Center (RJSCC) for immediate proper actions.

Aside from the collection of election-related data, Cemac’s role is also to implement laws to ensure a Secured and Fair Election (SAFE) and to give latest updates to RJSCC. —  Dan Toribio Jr.
