A house, two fastfood joints and five retail stores were razed in a fire that broke in Boalan at dawn yesterday.

DZT gathered that the fire started at past 1 a.m. and was placed under control after several minutes.

Firemen successfully prevented the flames from scattering to other neighboring houses and structures.

Residents in the area said the flames originated from one of the fastfood joints  and rapidly spread to the house owned by Rose Apolinario.

The two eateries and five stores being rented by different traders were owned by Roger Apolinario.

During the blaze, several valuables were destroyed including commodities being sold in the stores.

DZT learned that occupants of the stores and the house were not around when the fire broke out.

Fire investigators were still trying to determine the cause of the fire and the actual damage. – Dan Toribio Jr.
