A right of passage and the bequeathal of knowledge becomes the responsibility of seniors to their junior peers as they prepare on their journey to their next phase in life, became the highlight message imparted during the 2013 Tetuan Elementary School Bequeathal Ceremony  last Thursday afternoon as close to 500 grade V and VI students, in their resplendent best, had happily joined in with their parents and the entire faculty in attendance with no less than District 2 Rep. Erbie A. Fabian and Councilor Lilia Nuño as principal guests of honor.

In his opening message, School Principal Dr. Ronald Abaa stressed on the significance of the occasion reminding the young students of their parts in the continuing journey of their schooling and their personal lives.

Dr. Abaa said the occasion was also coincidentally the celebration of Valentine’s Day, a hugely popular event especially among the young which highlights love, and for the young graders love for their parents, their siblings, their teachers and their school work.

Meanwhile, Rep. Fabian in his short impromptu message expressed joy over being invited to a happy occasion which celebrates something close to everyone’s heart, love.

February 14 is Saint Valentine’s Day, a day where the entire world celebrates with much gusto with the overriding theme of love.

The day was exciting and fun filled and the event made possible by the organizers as the solon paid tribute to school officials and faculty headed by Dr. Abaa, the parents of the children and the Parents-Teachers’ Association headed by Roland Ramos.

Fabian said the school brings back happy memories as he traced his public service career with reminders of his toils in the service of the people such as the covered multi-purpose hall, where the event was staged as a testament of his modest contribution to the school.

He promised if he hurdles elections this May where he is running for mayor, he along with Councilor Lilia Nuno, who is a congressional aspirant and party mate, vow to bring more development to the school in their desire to see education prosper in the grassroots level.
