A woman was killed, while a 55-year-old man was wounded in two separate shooting incidents in Mampang and Tugbungan last Sunday afternoon.

Police identified the fatality as Amelita Tenorio y Sapetran, 40, married, a native of General Santos City and residing at Sitio Kapok, Mampang.

Wounded was Wilfredo Ramirez y Katakutan, married, a junkshop owner and a resident of Talon-Talon.

Tetuan Police Station commander Chief Insp. Elmer Acuña said that Tenorio was shot and killed by her brother-in-law PO1 Sahi Yusop, who is assigned in Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao and a resident of Arena Blanco.

Tenorio sustained a gunshot wound in the left lower breast and was rushed to the Zamboanga City Medical Center where he was declared dead on arrival.

Initial investigation disclosed that Yusop had accused Tenorio as the person responsible for the death of his wife who died allegedly through “supernatural”.

Around 2 p.m. Sunday, Tenorio met Yusop who suddenly shot her in the chest. The policeman escaped after the incident and was nowhere to be found as of press time.

Ramirez was shot and wounded by one of two men riding on a motorcycle in Tugbungan around 5:40 p.m.

Police said that Ramirez was also riding on a motorcycle going to Morning Breeze when the two bike-riding men chased and the backrider shot him once.

Ramirez sustained a bullet wound in the right part of the neck and was taken to the Zamboanga City Medical Center, where he was declared out of danger. – Dan Toribio Jr.
