3 cops injured in highway mishap PDF Print E-mail

A police officer and two non-commission officers were injured after the PNP car they were riding crashed along the highway in Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay last Tuesday morning.

A police report disclosed that Insp. Roex Quierrez, 28, and SPO4 Nestor Ocab, 50, were riding on a police car driven by PO1 Mark Lou Cabaluna when the accident happened.

All of them belong to the Buug Municipal Police Station and were on their way to Ipil.

Initial investigation disclosed that the police car was negotiating the highway on a moderate speed coming from Buug and on the way to Ipil to attend a lecture on election laws at the Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office when the front left tire of the vehicle blew up at Barangay Gadiangan, Imelda, The driver tried to control  the vehicle ,however, he failed because the road was wet and slippery making the vehicle turn turtle several times before it rammed a road railing.

The three policemen onboard sustained minor injuries while the vehicle was damaged particularly its front and rear bumper.

The three policemen were rushed to a hospital for treatment while the vehicle was brought to the Imelda Municipal Police Station. – Dan Toribio Jr.
