Kidnap group leader falls PDF Print E-mail

Government forces arrested a suspected leader of a kidnap-for-ransom group at the  boundary of Barangays Kulasian and Fatima in Payao Zamboanga Sibugay early dawn Thursday.

An government intelligence officer disclosed that the kidnapping group leader has a  warrant of arrest for multiple murder and kidnapping charges.

He is identified as Elnas Gilingan alyas Omar Gilingan and  Umar Pangilingang. He was detained and underwent tactical investigation.

Gilingan has been involved in the kidnapping  of Joel Indinu and Reynaldo Drapisa in Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay two years ago.

According to investigation,  Gilingan was also involved in the ambush of police troopers in Barangay Tenan,  Ipil.

Fortunately the police troopers managed to return fire and escaped unscathed in the ambush. — Allen Abastillas
