Operations against human trafficking continues.

Six women were rescued by the Bongao Inter- Agency Task Force against Trafficking ( BIATFT )  last February  19, 2013 in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.

The task force also arrested the recruiter who is fom Cotabato Cosac Sultan Kudarat. Seized from her possession  were US$1,500  and P60,000.

The victims were recruited to work as domestic helpers in Jordan. The six women are from Davao City, Pagadian City, Makilala, North  Cotabato, Cagayan de Oro City and two from Zamboanga City.

Investigation disclosed that the recruiter had demanded the victims P10,000. each as advance payment for the recruitment with Malaysia as their gateway to Jordan.

The task force in Tawi-Tawi brought the victims to Zamboanga City aboard a commercial vessel.

The Philippine Center on Transnational Crimes Western Mindanao Field Office and the Department of Social Welfare and Development-9  under Zamboanga City Based Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force ( ZCBATF ) received the victims and brought them to Bahay Silongan. — Allen Abastillas
