Police have identified the dead man found amid grasses in Barangay Lumbangan, the other day.

A police report said the dead man is Filoteo Teofilo y Etan, Jr. 32, single, of Sampaguita. Guiwan.

Investigation disclosed that Teofilo’s live-in-partner Devon Joy Atayge who went to a funeral parlor recognized the body as that of Teofilo who left home and failed to return.

Teofilo’s cadaver was discovered by residents of Lumbangan around 4 a.m. Thursday.

Police said that Teofilo was hogtied with a wire and his face was wrapped with a plastic bag tied with a nylon cord.

His head bore a bullet wound which was apparently the cause of death.

A resident said they heard a single gunshot coming from the secluded area at dawn of the same date.

Police theorized that Teofilo was picked up elsewhere and was taken to Lumbangan where he was executed. – Dan Toribio Jr.
