A suspected carnapped black Toyota Vios with plate number RSL634 was recovered by Highway Patrol Group 9 operatives along Johnston St., Baliwasan last Friday morning.

Team leader Insp. Mervin S. Claret disclosed that they were conducting operation on anti-carnapping and “no plate and no travel” policy along Johnston St., when his men spotted the car. It was flagged down because the driver was not wearing seat belt.

Claret said the driver presented his license and the Deed of Sale of the Toyota Vios.

Claret instructed his men to check the car with the HPG Vehicle Information Management  System ( HPG VIMS ).

It was discovered that the Toyota Vios is under “Hold Order Status “. It was reported on December 28,2012. It is owned by a certain S. A. P of Nueva Ecija with Chassis numbers  NCP929047849 and Engine numbers 2NZ6037754.

HPG-9 Chief Supt. Severino B.  Agustin directed Claret to impound the car at Camp Batalla and coordinate with the  Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory-9  for the  conduct of macro-etching examination.

Agustin also instructed Claret to prepare a progress report for HPG Camp Crame and inform the real owner of the car of its recovery. — Allen Abastillas
