Another suspected shabu pusher armed with a pistol was arrested during an anti-illegal drug operation along Don Toribio St., Tetuan early yesterday morning.

Arrested was Joseph Sta. Teresa y Antiquera, 26, married.

City Police Director Sr.Supt. Edwin De Ocampo disclosed that Sta. Teresa was nabbed by men of the Zamboanga City Public Safety Company led by Supt. William Gadayan around 4 a.m.

DeOcampo said that during the anti-illegal drug operation, Gadayan and his men confiscated from the Sta. Teresa’spossession three sachets of suspected shabu and a 9mm Llama pistol with serial number 175539 loaded with six rounds of  ammunition.

Sta. Teresa could not produce any legal document on the gun as well an exemption fromthe Comelec gun ban.

The seized shabu packs were forwarded to the 9th PNP Crime Laboratory for examination.

The gun was turned over to aninvestigator while the suspect was detained at the central police station.

De Ocampo disclosed that aside from violation of Republic Act 9165, they will file a case for illegal possession of firearm and the violation of the Omnibus Election Code or the Comelec gun ban. – Dan Toribio Jr.
