Police disclosed yesterday they have gathered the identity of the man behind the killing of a truck driver in Baliwasan Tabuk last Saturday afternoon.

After a thorough investigation conducted by the Investigation Section led by Sr. Insp. Arlan Delumpines, the name of the mastermind of the shooting that killed Rolando Ituralde y Fernando, 34, married, of Tumaga cropped up.

Investigation disclosed that the shooting has something to do with the work of Ituralde. He figured in a dispute with one of his co-workers who was dismissed from his job after some anomaly discovered by the management.

Police were still conducting follow-up operations for the arrest of the killer. A murder case was being readied to be filed against him in court.

Ituralde was driving a cargo truck on the way to deliver cargoes to Interco in Baliwasan Tabuk around 4:50 p.m. when an unidentified man met him along the road and later shot him at close range.

Iturralde sustained bullet wounds in the chest and cheek and died on the spot.

Police recovered two spent shells and a slug of .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene. – Dan Toribio Jr.
