A suspected Abu Sayyaf terrorist involved in the Sipadan kidnapping was arrested by government forces in Barangay Limpapa last Tuesday afternoon.

Arrested was Najer Ibrahim with aliases Sappayani, Appih, Ustadz Appi. He was collared by the police on the strength of a warrant for 21 counts of kidnapping with case numbers 122473-H to 122493H.

The warrant was issued by Judge Erlinda Piñera Uy of the Regional Trial Court of the National Capital Judicial Region in Branch 162 on October 15, 2003.

A police report disclosed that Ibrahim was involved in the Sipadan kidnapping last April 23, 2000.
Ibrahim was reportedly hiding in Limpapa for several days when the government forces spotted him. — Dan Toribio Jr.
