A fisherman was shot dead by three gunmen in Barangay Pasilmanta, Sacol Island last night.
Police identified the fatality as Nasirin Appis, married.  He sustained three bullet wounds in the body and died while on the way to the hospital.

A police report disclosed that Appis was walking on his way to his banca along the shore and ready to go fishing around 7:30 p.m. when three men armed with an M-16 rifle and opened fire on him.

Relatives brought Appis to the hospital passing Manicahan but he expired while aboard a vehicle heading toward city proper.
Recovered at the crime scene were three spent shells of M-16 rifle.

The body was claimed by his relatives forburials in Islam rites after the post mortem examination.
The Sacol police under Sr. Insp. Manobibi Akkiba were still investigating the case. — Dan Toribio Jr.
