Operatives of the Sta. Maria Police Station arrested two young men who beat to death a store owner the other day in San Roque.

City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin De Ocampo identified those arrested as Romel Dumanlang y Eteng, 24, and Joseph Lictawa y Delos Reyes, 20. They were nabbed during a follow-up operation and were detained at the Sta. Maria Police Station pending the filing of charges in court.

A police report disclosed that Dumanlang and Lictawa parked their motorcycle in front Armando Raveche’s store in Pasay, San Roque around 11:35 a.m. When they were told by Raveche not to park there, the two got mad and left the place. They returned later accompanied by unidentified companions and aided each other in mauling Raveche.

The suspects left the place after the incident while Raveche was rushed to the hospital where he expired while undergoing treatment due to the multiple injuries.

A follow-up operation carried out by the police led to the arrest of Dumanlang and Lictawa. Their other companions remain at large, but their getaway motorcycles were recovered by the police. – Dan Toribio Jr.
