“I congratulate you for having made Zamboanga Chong Hua High School as one of the premier educational institutions in our city for so many years now, said District 2 Rep. Erbie A. Fabian during a short address Thursday evening on the occasion of the induction of officers of the board of directors 85-84.

Cong. Fabian paid tribute to the long line of distinguished alumni who went on to become chairman of the school board of trustees in the process helped the then Zamboanga Chinese High School to evolve into one of the city’s best.

“Let me remind you that institutions of learning play a crucial and pivotal role in helping mold our young ones into becoming productive citizens of the city and in all due fairness Zamboanga Chong Hua School has over the years delivered quality education at the same time schooling the students in Mandarin and Chinese studies providing well-rounded education for the youth,” Fabian said.

The solon meantime, exhorted members of the Chinese community to continue supporting the programs of the city as it moves to bring the city to the next level in terms of progress and development.

“You have supported much by paying your taxes, the right amount of taxes due to the government and this has been the engine that sustains the drive towards progress,” Fabian said.

He also expressed gratitude to the past and present officials of the school and the Chinese Chamber who have guided the school to its present stature.

Fabian, who is gunning for the mayoralty post in the forthcoming May polls, assured the Chinese community his will become an administration that listens, consults and supports all sectors of society for the greater good of the majority.

“I will be mayor for all in the city and I will push the pursuit of our collective dreams in Zamboanga contained in our 10-point agenda. Our pledge to the good people of the city for a better, peaceful and progressive city.”
