Team Villar Basketball, that has been noted for dominating various local basketball competitions, has been visiting different cities and provinces in Mindanao to conduct friendly and/or exhibition games upon requests from many basketball associations.

According to Zamboangueño player Joanathan Pareño, who now plays for Team Villar, their team has already conducted friendly exhibition games among different local teams in this region where they received warm welcome from Mindanaoans.

Pareño added that aside from holding exhibition games upon invitation of local groups, they are also giving free basketball clinics to the youth who want to learn more about basketball,

“In fact, when we visited Barangay Talisayan recently, we were overwhelmed with the warm reception we received from the residents. Many parents even brought their kids to take photos with us,” Pareño, who was one the Zamboangueno players who bagged the 2011 NBA 3 on 3 Championship in Manila.

He said that Team Villar is more than willing to visit Zamboanga City and other parts of Zamboanga Peninsula if and when invited by interested local basketball teams who wants to hold friendly or exhibition games with them.

“Aside from playing exhibition games with local basketball groups we can also provide free basketball clinic to the young children and youth sector,” he stressed.

At least five Zamboagueño players are members of Team Villar, which has defeated Montana Pawnshop, the defending champion during the celebration of Araw ng Davao.
