2 hurt in crossfire in Baliwasan shootout PDF Print E-mail

Two persons were wounded in crossfire during a shootout between two feuding families at Ilang-Ilang Drive, Baliwasan last Wednesday night.

Jun Sariol y Tan and Rich Mongkayo sustained bullet wounds in their body and were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Police arrested three men who were part of the two groups that figured in the exchange of gunfire. They were identified as Hadji Hassan Judaini, Nuh Ibrahim and Mashrim Sulaiman.

Initial investigation disclosed that Hadji Hassan Judaini’s son Harun figured in a fistfight with Ibrahim and Sulaiman around 9 p.m.. Moments later, the two groups traded shots that wounded Sariol and Mongkalyo who were at the vicinity.

Men of the Investigation Section led by Sr. Insp. Arlan Delumpines rushed to the scene that led to the arrest of the three men who were reportedly involved in the shootout.

Policemen and men of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) recovered a .45 caliber pistol loaded with seven rounds of ammunition, one spent shell and one live ammunition of carbine rifle, six spent shells and two deformed slugs of 9mm pistol and four metal jackets.

The three suspects were detained at the central police station while the confiscated items were turned over to the 9th PNP Crime Laboratory for ballistic and other examinations. – Dan Toribio Jr.
