“The week ahead is the high point in the religious observance of the most holy period of Lent. Holy Week as we commemorate the passion, death and resurrection of savior Jesus Christ for the sins of mankind, therefore as good Catholics I enjoin everyone to a period of prayer, for us all to ask the Lord for forgiveness for our wrongdoings and restore us the good graces of the Almighty.”

Thus wasthe message aired by District 2 Rep. Erbie A. Fabian as millions across the city, the country and the whole world over prepare the observance of Holy Week.
Cong. Fabian said as Catholic faithful, “we are all enjoined to observe this week in meditation, partake in acts of charity and sharing with our less fortunate brethren, and ask for forgiveness to all those who we have wronged in the past as a meaningful gesture of being one with the Most Holy One during the highpoint of the Lenten season.”

“Especially for us in government service, we are looked upon by our people to set moral examples of being upright, God fearing and ready to fulfil our religious obligations to God and men.” he added.

The solon encouraged the faithful to participate in the various religious activities being lined up by the church in their respective parishes.
Fabian said in these present times, so much transgressions have been committed and this week is a wonderful opportunity to make amends for the mistakes before an ever forgiving Father Almighty “as we embark on our endeavors in the days ahead fully reinvigorated with our communion with God this Holy Week, a week ahead when the campaign period officially starts in the city for all those aspiring for local positions like myself.”

“For at least this week, let us forget politics and give ourselves a chance to commune with our Maker, as we pay our deepest respects to our religious beliefs and the teachings of the church and God himself,” he said. “We also encourage prayer that this forthcoming May 13 elections will be clean, honest, and fair to everyone and we ask the faithful to help ensure that this will be so.”

The solon said he intends to fulfill his religious obligations this Holy Week along with his family and friends to participate in church religious activities as he enjoined everyone anew to do the same.

Holy Week formally got underway with the celebration of Palm Sunday and culminates on Easter Sunday, March 31.
