UNA District 1 congressional candidate Monsi dela Cruz appears to have conquered the barangays within the seven kilometer radius with residences and stores displaying his campaign posters in the first two days of the 45-day campaign period.

The servant-leader has been visiting all the barangays in District 1 since December last year organizing ward leaders and convincing barangay officials to support his candidacy which promises change in governance through poor and business oriented legislative measures in Congress.

In Sta. Maria, Canelar, Pasonanca, Baliwasan, Monsi appears to have gathered the sympathy of voters due to his clearcut pronouncements on reforms to boost the economy, create jobs and poverty alleviation.

“It is not only in these urbanized barangays that Monsi have mustered support from the people. In the days ahead, displays of support and sympathy are expected to emerge in the other barangays in the north and in the west coast,” predicted Monsi’s campaign leaders.

Monsi pointed out that the people are fed up with the present administration.

“Everybody cries for change, for reforms... Everybody is disgusted with the unstable peace and order, crimes and most of all the blackouts which has brought sufferings to ordinary households and losses to the many business establishments,” said the servant-leader.

He added that he and the local UNA group will campaign harder to convince the people that it is time to change, “to make Zamboanga move forward and progressive.”
