Zamcelco Project Supervisor Jesus Castro sees a need to keep costs of power low here in Mindanao to help spur development and progress in the years to come.

Appearing in Cuentas Claras, a popular Public Affairs Program hosted by 2nd District Rep. Erico Basilio Fabian, the NEA designate point man in Zamcelco, Castro revealed this was tops in the agenda of I-CARE ( Consumers Alliance for Rural Energy) Party List in congress of which he will assume the seat of after his term expires here with Zamcelco.

Castro an engineer, and longtime Zamsureco Manager said I-CARE will bat for the retention by government of operational control over all hydro power plants in Mindanao to keep the costs of energy low.

Hydro is by far the cheapest sources of electricity in the country.
Power costs is a major consideration of big industries, seeking to relocate to Mindanao, and its present rate system appears very attractive, Castro added.

Castro told Cong. Fabian he hopes to join the city’s 2nd district solon in Congress soon so their agenda could be pursued earnestly.
