Stolen SUV, motorcycle recovered PDF Print E-mail

Two stolen motorvehicles were recovered by operatives the Highway Patrol  Group-9 recently.

Recovered were a silver Ford Everest with plate number BMS 262, Chassis number LWAT634211 and engine numbers NMCLS4D405W114529 and one red Honda motorcycle with plate number OE8418.

HPG team leader Insp. Mervin S. Claret disclosed that while they are conducting an anti-carnaping operation at Kilometer 4, Pasonanca, they spotted the Ford Everest with the driver not wearing seatbelt. The motorcycle was intercepted when someone was applying for its shipment clearance for Jolo, Sulu.

Case investigator SPO1 Wilfredo P. Ator disclosed that he found the motorcycle as listed in the Motorvehicle Information Management  System (VIMS), particularly  in the alarm/stolen status under alarm numbers 2007-042070. The motorcycle driver also presented a document with discrepancy and during actual inspection it was found out that the  ignition switch of the motorcycle was damaged and the registered owner is a lending company.

HPG-9 Chief Supt. Severino B. Agustin directed  Claret and Ator to impound the two motorvehicles, conduct further investigation and send an accomplishment report to the National Headquarters in Camp Crame. — Allen Abastillas
