Another barangay chairman from the west coast came out in the open yesterday expressing all-out support to the local Team PNoy District 1 slate led by mayoralty aspirant Cong. Beng Climao-Salazar, re-electionist Vice Mayor Cesar Iturralde, Congressional bet Mayor Celso Lobregat and all of the team’s Council aspirants.

The pledge of support of Sinubong barangay chairman Rolando Soler belied assertions by a Lobregat rival, Monsi de la Cruz, that a number of west coast chieftains to include Soler have shifted alliance with him ensuring his victory in the May 13 elections.

“Si abla tu de suporta, bien dificil kame puede ayuda conele [Crisanto], si no con Mayor Lobregat gayot came, cay el proyecto lang ya dale si Mayor pate si Ma’am Beng hinde na puede conta,” Soler, in the presence of three of his barangay councilmen, who were also included by de la Cruz as his supposed supporters, declared.

He continued: “Halos todo [clase de proyecto] na barangay Sinubong tiene ya came. Para claro lang gayot, ta suporta came con el team PNoy, si Mayor pate si Ma’am Beng, todo came, yo pate di mi maga kagawad”.

Soler said he had to come out in the open to react to what he termed as false reports.

Like Malagutay barangay chairman Allan de Guzman, Soler also expressed surprise why Lobregat’s rival is fond of inventing stories such as the supposed ‘support from barangay chieftains’.

“Came na Sinubong ay suporta came na Team PNoy, con Ma’am Beng and Mayor Lobregat patel el di ila line up na District 1”, the chairman reiterated, adding that majority of the residents in the village have the similar sentiments. — Rey Carbonel
