Former Governor Almarin Centi Tillah of Tawi-Tawi and Southern Philippines Development Authority and now president of the Islamic Society of the Philipines (PARHIMPUNAN SIN ISLAM) is urgently calling for the holding of the ARMM election as scheduled on August, 2011, and not postponed to a later date, as mandated by the law creating ARMM.

“Postponing a solution to a problem is not necessarily solving the problem, and may even compound the problenm,” Tillah said.

Because, he said, if ARMM election is postponed, then either one of two things can happen — current ARMM officials maybe on  hold-over capacity, or a new set of officials maybe appointed, as term ef office have already ended or expired.

“Either way, the officials do not have any mandate, end therefore do not enjoy the ARMM’s constituents choices contrary to the precepts in a democracy, where  the voice of the people is the voice of God,” Tillah pointed out.
