City Hall, the city council and other government offices must be made accessible to all, rich or poor, regardless of creed and religion, man or women, young and old alike said council aspirant Gerry Acuna during last night’s big rally by FuerzaZamboanga at Barangay Mercedes.

Speaking in chabacano, Acuna a former 3-term councilor of the city said government exists to serve the people and no one must be barred from entering local government edifices here.

The popular broadcaster, gunning for a return to the city council as a candidate of Fuerza for district II said he has gotten wind of reports of people being denied entry into city hall and other government offices for one reason or another.

Acuna added in the earlier days, anyone at anytime during work days can enter local government offices to pursue their individual business or concern.

He assured a Fuerza dispensation will guarantee anyone can enter government offices and have their needs attended to.

He also reiterated the group’s desire to apportion more funds for social services as many are in need of financial assistance.

Appeals  from many for assistance for medicines, hospitalization, burial needs, educational needs and livelihood are on the rise indicating more people are not able to meet these financial requirements due to poverty, calls for appropriating more funds for social services, Acuna added.
