Mabait, currently training for a forthcoming bout on April 15, paid tribute to the three term congressman from the 2nd district as the driving force in his successful bid for a Philippine professional boxing crown.

‘Si Sir Erbie gud ang gasuporta sa ako katong una pa hantod katong nag champion na ko siya gihapon ang akong inspirasyon’, the humble ex titlist from Talon Talon Loop said.

Mabait said he owes everything to Fabian who guided his boxing career from amateur to professional under his Blue Stallion Boxing stable.

Another ex-boxing champ and multi medal amateur winner Eric Canoy has nothing but praises for Fabian who took him under his wings when he hit rock bottom right after squandering his earnings from both his amateur and professional fights.

“If it were not for Sir Erbie, I would have been in jail now or much worse dead as I was living a rough and tumble life, Canoy related in Cebuano,” he said.

In close collaboration with long time pal and ex pro cager now SBP Area Head and Trustee Pedro Alfaro Jr., the duo has put up countless tournaments that produced the likes of JennsKnuttle, RR Garcia, and Marc Barroca among the many, now stars in their own rights.

Vice Mayoralty bet Atty. Luis Climaco, a star footballer during hi college days at the Ateneo, is now currently engrossed in supporting duckpin bowling.

Climaco served as President of the local bowling organization from a number of years and bankrolls at least three teams of local duckpin bowlers in tournaments here and in other places of the country.
