An 11-year-old boy drowned while swimming at the Talon-Talon swamp amid the downpour last Tuesday afternoon.

Police identified the fatality as Louie Jay Rojas y Macapili of Hawaii Drive, Talon-Talon.

Initial investigation showed that Macapili and some friends went to the swamp to swim while rain was pouring around 3 p.m.

Moments later, Macapili disappeared from the eyes of his companions which made the latter decide to go home and reported the incident to immediate relatives.

Macapili’s parents and other relatives rushed to the place and conducted a search and rescue operation.

Police said that amid the operation, Macapili was recovered lifeless amid swamp cabbage.

Relatives tried to apply first aid on Macapili, but he  was already dead when he was fished out of the swamp.
