Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting  is now extensively working on their preparation for the forthcoming election on May 13, 2013.

PPCRV’s Darren Torres in an interview disclosed that the council is in need of additional volunteers to fill up the 2,200 targeted number of precincts be used on the day of election in Zamboanga City.

The volunteers will undergo a series of orientations in the different parishes in Zamboanga City to ensure that they are capable and equipped with skills and knowledge come election day.

On April 13,  the council will conduct a series of orientations for volunteers in the different parishes such as Vitali, Sangali, Curuan and Mercedes, while on the 20th of the month, orientation will be held at the Central Caritas and on April 21 on parishes of Ayala and Sta. Maria.

“We see to it that each volunteer knows how to handle the situation in their assigned polling precinct in case problem will arise,” Torres said.

Torres added that volunteers coming from the different barangays will be clustered under one parish so that it could be much easier for the PPCRV center to conduct the orientation and to monitor their volunteers during the election period.

Torres is optimistic that the organization will once again deliver smooth services to the voters during Election Day.    He said that since the creation of PPCRV in the city, they have not received complaints as far as their function is concerned.
